Friday's - Qualifying Sessions
After the warmer weather in Texas, Doug arrives at the O'Reilly Mid South Nationals at the Memphis Motorsport Park to ideal conditions for racing his Chesapeake Harley Davidson/Dragstar Brigade Buell. First round of qualifying Doug runs a 7.02 @ 187.89 mph to sit in the #7 spot. For the second session the couditions are about the same and Doug runs a 7.04 @ 192.44 mph dropping him to the #8 spot, where his time will carry over to Saturday.
Saturday's - Qualifying Session
The day starts with cool conditions sure to bring fast times, Doug runs a 6.94 at 192.93 mph to move to the #6 spot. Back at the trailer the team finds there was some more in it for the first run and makes some adjustments. In the last session Doug runs another 6.94 at 192.74 mph to remain in the #6 spot, Doug will take on Karen Stoffer on the GEICO Suzuki in the first round of eliminations on Sunday
Sunday - Eliminations
Rain starts early this morning and continues all day forcing the NHRA to cancel all racing until Monday morning
Monday - Eliminations
After a full day of rain Monday morning brings clouds and a strong mist, this causes the Safety Safari to continue to work to get the shut down area dry and ready to race on. After the late start and a accident in Funny Car its our turn to run. Doug leaves first with .037 light and runs a 6.93 at 191.70 mph to Karens 6.96 at 191.92 both riders best passes of the weekend. For the second round Doug will face Eddie Krawiec with Doug having lane choice. Doug leaves a little early with a .007 foul start and runs a 6.91 at 191.29 to Eddies 6.95 at 193.18 mph giving Eddie the win at the starting line. The team leaves Memphis knowing the bike is capable of running at the top of the pack. Doug will next race at the NHRA Las Vegas National October 28-November 1, 2009.
