Douglas is attending his first Pro Stock race for NHRA this weekend with Junior Pippin's guidance and Rick Maney tuning the bike.
Friday - First round qualifing, Douglas runs a 7.364/184.27 mph. Douglas admits to missing his shift points on the first run, which lands him in the 16th position 21 bikes trying to qualify.
Second round - huge improvement - 7.169/181.35 mph. Douglas jumps to the #14 spot for the day.
Saturday - First third round qualifing - 7.147/181.23 mph, still making improvements with each run steps him up one spot to #13.
Fourth round - 7.219/177.84, no changes in the field, so Douglas stays in the #13 spot and will take on Angie McBride.
Sunday - Elimination - Douglas lines up against Angie McBridge and takes her on the tree with a .024 to Angies .052, but it would be Angies bike taking the win with a 6.994 to Douglas' 7.066, his best run on his new buell.
This experience was huge and the progress he showed all weekend amazing. Great job by everyone involved.
Douglas would like to thank Chesapeake Harley Davidson, Maryland Portable Concrete, Cecil County Dragway, Red Lion Oil and Rance Aluminum Trailers for their continued support.
